Poppies galore

I love the large poppy stamp from Stampin' Up (page 75 of main catalogue and clear mount costs £12.95) and although it is large you can also use just a small portion of it, like I did in the card below. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder then water coloured it using an ink pad and aqua painter.

I used the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder for the background then added some Ruffle Stretch Trim in Pistachio Pudding and finished it of with a little pink flower from the In colour Dahlias. This card could be used for Thank you or a Birthday or anything you like as it's very generic.

Different crafts

Hope you have all had a lovely Easter and got to spend lots of time with your family and friends. I did, so I haven't had much time to go to my craft room, sorry I don't have any paper crafts to share with you but I have made two little button type bracelets, pink for myself and blue for my daughter, some Stampin' Up products on these like the lovely In Colour Dahlias (127556), other little buttons and accessories are from retired things or just random buttons I've had. These bracelets are a very simple make, I bought little cabochon bracelet blanks and I used Crystal Effects (great for sticking heavy items - 101055) to glue on all the little buttons and things. I love to dabble in other types of crafts, like beading, sewing, needle felting etc and whilst I don't spend enough time on any of these to get good at them I still find all crafts great fun!

I'll be back with my normal crafts very soon, I have some ideas running around in my head that I can't wait to get to my desk to make so please come back for those!

Team welcomes

These nice bright cards were made for my new team members, it's a very small team but we would welcome more members! If you think you would like to join my Stampin' Up team and have some crafting fun while you work, please contact me for more details.

The wonderful sentiment I used for these cards comes from a set of five called Feel Goods and the other four are great too. The set can be found on page 25 of the main catalogue, item number 129684 for the clear set. The lovely red paper is from a little pad called Fresh Prints (48 sheets) and are the perfect size for matting onto cards, this can be found in the mini catalogue, number 132996 and are a bargain at only £6.25!

That's all today folks, have a great day and I'll be back soon.

Happy Monday

I made this Easter basket last year, there are lots of these on the internet but some were a bit complicated so I made this simpler version and thought you might like to try it.

This is the one I made this year as a present for a friend, it's hard to see the details but last years below has a sketch in the photo which I hope is self explanatory. Contact me if you need any more help with making it.

Hope you are all enjoying your preparations for Easter and maybe even getting some crafting in with your children, now school's out.

Sharing the fun

I love to go to my happy place aka my craft room, I can while away many hours here on my own but I also love the times I get to craft with other people. A few weeks ago I went on a craft retreat with Monica Gale and twenty five other lovely ladies, it was held in a lovely old manor house hotel near York. What a lovely weekend we spent there crafting and getting to know each other, below is one of the projects we made, a sweet birdhouse.

I am spending tomorrow with some other Stampin' Up demonstrators to craft together and share ideas. I have made some swaps to take with me and I will share these with you afterwards.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend which I hope includes some crafting time.

Happy Easter

Unfortunately the weather this morning is not very spring like, it's pouring down! However until this morning it has been really nice with all the spring flowers in the garden at their peak here in Bangor, I even noticed yesterday the first flower has opened on my Magnolia. I love this time of year with all the new beginnings the garden shows us with the hope of summer just around the corner.

I'm going to share with you today the thank you card and gift I made for the ladies of my monthly hostess club, I hope they liked them.

I love this tulip stamp, it's hard to see in the photo what the bag contained but it was a small Cadbury caramel bunny, yum!

And a whole basket of bunnies!

Happy Monday

Just dropped by for a few moments to share a card with you. I made this for a friend who lives in England and I know she received it on her special day so it's safe to post on here.

I'll be back later in the week with an Easter project so do come come back for that.

A fun day with other Demonstrators

Last Saturday I got to spend a lovely day with all the other Stampin' Up demonstrators in Northern Ireland, we chatted and crafted together and got to look at lovely projects. Thanks to Gina and her team for all their hard work in making the day so special and also thanks to Paula for coming over from England to be with us.

When demonstrators get together we like to take part in swapping ideas with each other. Each person makes the same project for each other person attending and in return we receive back the same amount of projects but all different! Great to have for inspiration for those days when you just can't seem to come up with an idea.

Below is the swap I made using stamp sets Peaceful Petals and Happy Watercolour both sets can be found in the Spring/summer catalogue.

I think the others liked it and I loved the ones I received in return.
